“Jewish Architecture in Europe” Database
One project of the Bet Tfila is to establish a database containing Jewish architecture in Europe (synagogues, cemetery chapels, ritual baths and other structures). This database, linked to a bibliography, will be a comprehensive collection of information (written and visual) of the architectural heritage of Jewish communities in Europe, which will be a valuable basis for further research.
To develop the structure of this sophisticated database, an interdisciplinary cooperation with different institutions will be conducted.
To collect and insert the data, the Bet Tfila is depending on partner institutions in Europe. Therefore it is planned to apply for financial support from the EU.
